Here we have a very rare record indeed, recorded for the 'Big Africa Day' at William Howard School in Brampton, Cumbria, in support of Water Aid in 1986. The event was a fore-runner of the Maddy-inspired 'Brampton Live' festival held at the William Howard Centre every year since 1995. Except this year, of course. The 'B' side is 'In Africa' performed by 1st and 2nd Year Pupils of William Howard School - the real stars of the show. Those still with us are pushing 50 now! ('In Africa' was written by a then teacher at William Howard, Stephen 'arding; yes, the 'H' was missed off the label, so every copy had one added by hand! The record certainly looks to be in excellent condition, but I have no means of playing it. The (plain white) sleeve has a number of small 'age' spots - but not so many as I do!
I don't know how many of this record have survived the last 35 years - but it won't be many, and those there are will be lying forgotten somewhere. As, indeed was this one.
No idea how to value it so I'll list it as an auction lot. Thanks for viewing and 'good luck' if you fancy a pop at it
(I try to pitch my stuff below the market in the hope of actually selling something - it's not cheaper because it's inferior. Quite the contrary on most occasions - and I never use 'stock' photos; what you see is what you will receive).
