British Star Shaped Picture Disc

1985

Limited release from 1985 "Special Star Shape Picture Disc For Xmas Tree Decoration"

This copy is extremely discoloured, an orange brown colour.

Contrary to popular belief, this is not due to staining. It's due to a chemical reaction caused by the plastic used in both the disc and the plastic sleeve and their exposure to sunlight and warm conditions. PVC clear sleeves used by Warner Bros in the mid 1980's were prone to rot. This copy has had the two original stickers removed and replaced onto a brand new 10" clear sleeve (the same size as the original). The record has been professionally cleaned and is completely sterile.

Condition:

The record plays well on both sides with a few surface marks. The sound is fairly crackly during quiet sections but doesn't skip.

This is NOT a very attractive record due to the discolouration & moderate wear. Ideal as a collection filler though.



I send my vinyl records in sturdy new cruciform stiff cardboard record mailers – not cheap envelopes. I only charge for actual postage costs.
