Description
Very rare pressing of Madonna's magnificent blockbuster LP True Blue.
This pressing was manufactured in the US for sale in Hong Kong.
This copy is in very good condition, however the cover has some creasing (more detail below) but the poster, lyric sleeve and disc are in superb condition. I am a conservative grader of LPs and am detailed so please read on. Many of the photos are close-ups and the cover defects look more dramatic in the photos than they do if you were just looking at it in normal lighting. High quality plastic sleeve provided.
Cover: Good condition. The cover has a high gloss shine to it but was also manufactured from card, which creased easily. The top left hand side of the cover has some creasing by the M and A of "MAdonna". It is an aesthetic blemish. The bottom corners also have minor dings. Again in a cover not especially noticeable unless you are really looking at it. By the opening there is also what appears to be a pin prick in the cover. This is not the result of a pin (not in my ownership anyway) and was like this when I bought it. There is also some wear to the inside of the sleeve where this "pin prick" is but it has not gone through the cover. The back cover has wear to the opening, where there is a tiny, tiny tear. You have to really be staring at it to notice it. A high quality cover is included and the cover looks fantastic inside it. I am being very detailed to avoid disappointment but really unless you were holding the sleeve up to strong light they are not huge things but they are damage so I am being specific about it. If pictures are not clear enough I will try again but the high gloss makes it difficult!
Poster: Excellent. Paper is flimsy so very, very slight creasing. Gorgeous shot of Madonna. No pin holes and has always been stored in the cover.
Lyric sheet: Excellent. Again very flimsy paper so very slight creasing but not through use or handling. For a 30 year old piece of paper it's in excellent condition.
Disc: (Conservatively graded) very good (I do not like grading played records as anything higher than very good). There are some spindle marks but the sound on the disc is stunning and would probably sound better after a clean (it is 30 years old). Clear vinyl is always very hard to grade because blemishes are almost impossible to see but it looks amazing and in the twenty years I have owned it, it has only been played twice (once for this auction).
Opportunity to get a potential bargain of a very rare, gorgeous pressing. Perfect for a Madonna fan just starting a vinyl collection or someone who wants an impressive playing copy. If it were not for the cover it would be graded excellent condition. Hoping it goes to a Madonna-loving home!
