Description
MAGGABRAIN — GIVE IT TO ME WET (1984)
Original US Pressing | Starr Bedd Records M 001
Now here’s one you don’t come across every day.
Straight out of Atlanta, Georgia, this obscure 1984 independent release from Maggabrain is a terrific slice of underground funk. We’re talking about the kind of record that slipped past the mainstream but certainly didn’t escape the attention of serious funk collectors and DJs.
Released on the small Starr Bedd Records label, Give It To Me Wet is one of those elusive 12-inch records that can take some real digging to turn up. And when you do find one, there’s no guarantee it’ll be in decent shape.
This particular copy is a very strong VG+, housed in a generic sleeve. A really nice surviving example of a record that’s become increasingly difficult to track down.
If obscure 80s funk, independent pressings, and those harder-to-find grooves are your thing, this one’s definitely worth a closer look.
