White Label Promo RARE
Ultra Rare Popcorn Northern Soul single by Marga Benitez, this original
45 very rarely shows up for auction. I have only seen 2 copies come up
for sale on eBay in the past 5 years. Backing group is most likely the Mellotones.
White label promo copy with radio station stamp on both sides. In this case,
I feel this stamp is not a detriment, but makes this copy even more desirable, because
the radio station is WKBW out of Buffalo, NY. This station was a 50,000 watt powerhouse
which reached the entire Eastern US/ Atlantic seaboard, featured George "Hound Dog" Lorenz
as one of its disc jockeys, and was influential in breaking many
R&B and Rock records in the '50's and 60's.
Record is in VG+ condition, and plays with some surface noise. The grooves are ultra shiny,
and there are no skips.
Records are shipped in a heavy duty corrugated 45 mailer with extra padding.
