ARTIST:
Puccini
TITLE:
Tosca
DETAILS:
1950's UK Columbia blue/gold label vinyl double LP. Performed by Maria Callas, Giueppe Di Stefano, Tito Gobbi and Franco Calabrese with the Orchestra and Chorus of La Scala Opera House, Milan conducted by Victor de Sabata. Presented in a pair of front laminated flipback picture sleeves with extensive liner notes, 33CX1094-5.
GRADING:
Cover - Excellent Minus
Generally in excellent condition with just a few dinks on the seams/spine which should be visible on the photographs.
The front sleeves have both maintained the original colours very well.
The rear sleeves and flipbacks have maintained the white colour exceptionally well.
The flipbacks are all intact with minimal signs of wear.
One or two small areas of laminate lift on the front covers.
The records are actually in two very thin rice paper type inner sleeves that I think were probably supplied by the record shop. These are quite tatty/split as they are so fine. I will include these plus 2 emitex inner sleeves as well.
Record - Very Good
Labels are clean and free from writing.
The spindle holes show signs these have been played but not excessively.
The vinyl is still glossy but there are some storage scuffing and hairlines visible.
33CX 1095 would be graded as Very Good Plus with occasional light background noise.
33CX 1094 would be graded as Very Good with occasional light background noise. It also a small mark that causes some popping/clicking for about 1 minute, not overwhelming but clearly noticeable.
Our grading is based on the system used by Record Collector magazine as described below (We don't sell records with a grading of less than very good).
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
