Marillion - Script For A Jesters Tear 4LP Boxset - OOP - NM/NM 1 owner, unplayed.
Taken from my personal collection, i bought this last year at launch and just recently opened it to inspect after reading some negative reviews as to the pressings themselves. Early ones were allegedly frequently quite bad and Optimal media has had a dreadful 2020/2021 thus far (an, experience i can frustratingly testify to!) so i felt obliged to check. Mercifully from a visual point this example is pretty much flawless however i have not played it - i dont know how many hrs are on the ol Shure mm cart and havent replaced it yet! Anyway, all four discs are warp free, centred and are thankfully free of non-fill (!) They are as usually not 100% visually perfect and feature some insignificant hairlining under torchlight which has become an Optimal calling card though it wont affect playback.
The packaging inc booklet and inner sleeves is completely flawless and as new alround.
This represents a very fair price vs those sealed jobbies from around the EU selling at well over the £100 mark now on dcogs and only going up in value it seems too... imo its much better to buy an opened mint copy that is known to be free of defects... the chances of getting 4 quality Optimal presses from one of these is already slim and id not want to chance that sort of money on a sealed one only to be gutted from having issues.
So why would i sell?? Honestly its only due to only wanting the first LP disc really while i own an excellent original and reissue already and also owning the cd/digital surround disc set which ive already rinsed silly so this is pointless to keep when theres so many more records i need to track down.
