Description

Here's one that doesn't come up every day.  Milwaukee jazz vocalist who will only be known by her first name- Marilyn, backed by the Arthur Kay Ensemble.  Recorded by the Saukville WI Audiophile label on gorgeous ruby red wax!

I don't know a lot about this record- what is Marilyn's last name?  I don't know but she can sing, my personal favorite track off of the album is her beautiful cover of "In the Still of the Night", followed up by "Honest and Truly" an instrumental track that will make you pause and appreciate the world.  There really isn't a dull number on this album, between Marilyn's vocals and the Arthur Kay ensemble, each song has at least one standout element.

There really don't appear to be any serious scratches, although I must admit I have a hard time visually grading colored vinyl.  For the most part the record plays very quietly, with the exception of the opening minute of each side- I'd say primarily due to clumsy hands setting down clunky tonearms.  There are moments of background noise here and there- but that noise is just that- BACKground, it never dominates the sound stage to a point that makes this an unpleasant listen.  All play grading was done through a Denon DL-110 MC cartridge, I have a picky ear.  Despite the seam split across the top, this really is a pretty sturdy sleeve.  Please take a close look at the pictures.

Most of this LP sounds like your classic VG+/EX deep groove pressing, it however has moments where I would more conservatively call it a VG.  One things for sure, I will definitely be making a tape of this record if anyone buys it, because I doubt if I will ever see one again.  Shoot me an offer let's make a deal- god bless and thanks for looking!
