MARIYA TAKEUCHI / Mariya Takeuchi Japanese singer-songwriter, lyricist, composer, musician, and music producer. Born in Kitsukiminami, Taisha Town, Hikawa District, Shimane Prefecture. In 1978, Takeuchi participated in the Victor album "Loft Sessions (1)," recording two songs, "Hollywood Cafe" and "Poem of the Eighth Note." That same year, she made her music debut with the single "Come Back to Me, My Time" and the album "BEGINNING." In 1979, she won the New Artist Award at the 21st Japan Record Awards. Her song "SEPTEMBER" won the Gold Award at the Shinjuku Music Festival and also performed at the Sanremo Music Festival in Italy. She continues to be active at the forefront of her field, not only as a singer but also as a composer. Mariya Takeuchi's "PLASTIC LOVE" was included on her 1984 album "VARIETY" and released as a 12-inch single the following year in 1985. Now, 36 years later, it's being released again in 2021! This City Pop classic continues to be loved worldwide and has spawned countless cover versions, allowing you to enjoy its magical charm on vinyl. Side A features the same "PLASTIC LOVE (Extended club mix)" as the original, but this time, Side B is the "album version" from the album "VARIETY" rather than the "PLASTIC LOVE (New remix)" featured on the original 12-inch.
