Description
We are very pleased to offer this early rare mono version of the classic "Dance Party" by Martha And The Vandellas.
This record contains several hits, most notably, "Dancin' In The Streets" which was a massive hit from this record and covered by many popular classic artists such as David Bowie and Mick Jagger, The Grateful Dead, Van Halen, and The Mamas and The Papas among others.
Other hits included, "Nowhere To Run", "Wild One" and "Mickey's Monkey". When we play graded the record, each song had something to offer. Overall a great record with a top notch backing band.
Moving on to the record, we'll start with the cover. It is a bit rough and comes in with a grade of Good Plus (G+). There is considerable wear all over the cover, please see the pictures. This includes, edge wear, spine wear, name on jacket and some silverfish damage.
The record was cleaned on a Loricraft Audio Professional Record Cleaner and play graded. Records are amazing, we were not sure this one would play through, it came to us without an inner sleeve. After a good cleaning, it exceeded expectations. There is surface noise during play but not enough to detract from enjoying the music. Martha Reeves was right when she proclaimed this a party album.
This rare Gordy label, pre-Motown Records mono version is ready to ship to your turntable. The record now resides in a fresh inner sleeve, we also include a polyvinyl outer sleeve for additional protection.
