Description
Martha & The Vandellas - Quicksand/ Darling, I Hum Our Song
(Stateside SS 250 UK Demo 7" 1963)
This is a UK original Demo 7" single pressing. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white "Stateside" Demo labels which have a large red "A" on the A-side label. The labels have a 4 pronged centre. The labels also have the "Tamla Motown" production credit. The record has 1st press 45 KR 4199-1N and 45 KR 4200-1N matrix numbers. It comes with its original "Stateside" company paper sleeve.
A rare early 1960's UK "Tamla Motown" produced Demo 7" Single. Unfortunately, this is quite well played copy. However, playback is still very reasonable overall. I have some other rare & collectable UK original 1960's Northern Soul/ Mod/ Motown Demo 7" Singles for sale too. So please see my other listings.
Vinyl: There are about 8 or 9 light, mild or very mild hairline surface marks, or hairline surface rub/ scuff marks, across both sides. These measure from 1 cm to 4 cm in length. One of these surface marks, on the A-side, is a bit thicker than a hairline mark. There is an extremely small pin-prick sized white mark/ dot on the A-side. It doesn't seem to affect playback. There is a very small finger-tip sized area of moderate surface rub marks, or surface scuff marks, on the B-side. There is light, mild, very mild or more moderate surface sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can only be seen under a strong light. The paper sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or very mild dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Good condition. There is a very tiny tear/ rip on the A-side label. It doesn't really notice that much. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on a few areas on the A-side. Otherwise, mild spindle wear.
The company paper sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some mild, very mild or more moderate ringwear & creasing. There is a very small tear at the die-cut area on the rear side of the sleeve. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this 7" single. The A-side plays Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle noticeable in some quieter places. There are no noticeable clicks or pops on the A-side.The B-side plays Good+ to Very Good overall. There are a few intermittent light, very mild or very minor clicks on the B-side. These do not last too long. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy.
