Description

Welcome US and international bidders to this no reserve auction for a mid 1960’s to early 1970’s fan publication produced for Harry “Hap” Peebles Agency of Wichita, KS. Mr. Peebles promoted concerts in the lower Midwest and it appears that this fan memento was obtained at a concert in Joplin, MO.  If you are looking for a pristine piece of fan memorabilia, honestly “this ain’t it.”

I left all the scans in the RGB color mode so you could the exactly the condition of what you are bidding on.

PLEASE EXAMINE ALL THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY. Ask any questions that you like!

It is an 8.5 x 11 finish size and only the front cover is two-cover—sort of a lime drawing of a guitar on white. The inside is black only and contains what appears to be SEVEN or EIGHT artist autographs:
Marty Robbins (in blue ballpoint )
Bill Phillips (in blue ballpoint)
Bob (Bishop) Sykes (in blue ballpoint)
Don Winters (in blue narrow marker?)
Marty Robbins Jr. (in red ballpoint)
Odell Martin (in blue ballpoint)
Russ Hicks (in blue ballpoint)
MAYBE Ruby Wright, but it does not look like it is on top of the dots.

I am NOT an autograph expert nor an autograph collector. IF YOU KNOW THESE AUTOGRAPHS TO BE REAL OR FAKE, let me know.  However, what I do know from 14+ years in Pre-Press and Graphic Design work is that that these signatures are ON TOP OF the printed dots in the reproductions of the artist photos and some extend beyond the image area. They are also apparently in ballpoint ink with one that looks like it was written with a fine-point marker. It is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that these blue signatures and especially the red signature would have been printed on an all black (grayscale) photo in this kind of inexpensive-to-produce  publication, so the logical and obvious conclusion is that someone wrote them there.

PLEASE EXAMINE ALL THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY.

I have another “Album of Favorite County and Western Stars” listed now that appears to contain the autographs (writing on top of the dots) of Hank Williams Jr, Roy and Cindy Cantrell and Lamar Mollis.

I also have two music books listed—“The Early Beatles” with its eight page
two-color photo section intact and Larry Norman’s “Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music.”

DIMENSIONS:   8.5 x 11.

CONDITION:  I would call this a 3 or 3.5 out of 10. Big, obtrusive stain on the top right of the front page, dirty streaks at the bottom of the front page, soiling, tears, yellowing, wrinkling, some rust on the staples, some stains, other flaws.  This IS WAY FAR FROM PRISTINE, but someone really liked this publication and enjoyed it!

I will do combined shipping when I can (since my items are pre-packed), but I will for sure give a shipping discount to those who purchase more than one item.
