Rarity: super rare single pressing released just ahead of Matt’s band release with ‘Mother Earth’ and the final of three band studio albums, ‘You Have Been Watching’, both released in 1995. It should be noted that the album remains ‘locked’ into the original Acid Jazz contract signed circa 1991 and at this stage is not included within the planned back catalogue release of Matt’s back-catalogue, so copies are scarce of this folk classic album and will remain so!
Condition outer cover: this is a single panel outer cover opening on the right-hand side. In grading the cover, I would point that this is a thin, incredibly fragile soft and thin card, and I would suggest nigh on impossible to source in a ‘like new’ condition! The front card panel is in superb shape, with minor indentations near the top of the panel, and very minor wear and minimal 'bend' in the bottom right hand corner, but overall a tiny amoint of wear a deep sheen (see photo's). This copy was exported from the UK into Italy and has an ‘import fono’ small and neat red and white sticker on the ‘villager’ image. Minimal if any wear to edges, spine and no splits or tears, and the tiniest dinks and wear to the corners. The rear panel has minor creasing near the spine but other that a beautiful flat card panel with a lovely sheen again. Overall, this is a really decent and unlikely to be bettered, bearing in mind the record is now twenty-six years old and housed in a flimsy card sleeve! I am grading the cover as a strong excellent condition and the best condition cover I have secured in this release!.
Inner sleeve: soft generic die-cut unlined paper sleeve has no creasing and no splits. I am grading this inner sleeve as excellent plus condition, and a great example with only minor age yellowing.
Vinyl: superb vinyl!! I played this on my newly commissioned Marantz TT15 at high volume and it is just perfection! I purchased ‘new’?! from an Italian eBay vinyl e-tailer six years ago and this copy has been played once or twice on my Rega 6 deck previously. Stunning copy and no pops, clicks, jumps, practically no background noise when played loud! Visuals clearly highlight this has had the minimal amount of handling and other than minor dust and static built up over the years this is a really great copy. There is a minor nail scuff on side one (see photo's) but this is superficial and does not affect play. I have no hesitation in grading this vinyl visually excellent condition, and sonically excellent plus (+) condition!
