May Blitz - 1st LP
(Vertigo 6360 007 UK LP 1970)
This is a UK original LP pressing. It has a matt gatefold sleeve & comes with a polythene-lined generic plain company inner sleeve. It does not have a "Swirl" inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl and has swirl Vertigo labels. It has a large swirl logo on Side 2's label. It has the earliest 1Y#-1/ 2Y#-1 matrix stampers.
A great, & very rare, early 1970's UK Hard-Doom-Prog LP.
Gatefold Sleeve: There is a mild tape stain that runs along the entirety of the top & bottom of the rear sleeve only. This is also on the inner gatefold in the same area. There is a small sticker tear at the very top corner of the front sleeve. There is some mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the top & bottom edges and spine. VG- condition.
Vinyl: Unfortunately there is a small 1 cm mark on the track "Tomorrow May Come", on Side 2, that causes some louder clicks for approximately 12-14 seconds. They are quite noticeable but luckily do not last too long. It does not jump on my system. There is one other very light 5 cm hairline mark on Side 2 also. Otherwise, there are some mild sleeve rubs which can be viewed under a strong light. Side 1 has a cluster of about 8 hairline marks, which are all in one general area on Side 1. They vary from 1 cm to 4.5 cm in length. Otherwise, just some mild sleeve rubs. Good condition. The labels are clean & show mild spindle wear. Apart from the aforementioned clicks on "Tomorrow May Come", the record plays VG+ to Near Excellent overall & even Excellent in some places. There are a few other light clicks on "Smoking The Day Away". These, again, do not last very long & much less noticeable. There is some light or very light crackle in a very few quieter passages too. The company inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some mild to more moderate ringwear & creasing but there are no seam splits.Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications. I shall use good quality packaging (proper vinyl mailers & two card dividers).
