Description

This mysterious disc turns out to include rare sides that have been bootlegged for the jazz collector market of the early 1950s. The first, "Maynard Ferguson," is Ferguson's wild take on "All the Things You Are" with the Charlie Barnet Orchestra. This record was commercially released but was quickly recalled when the Jerome Kern estate objected to the unconventional treatment of the song. The other side, "Stanley Getz," is the Miles Davis Sextet performing "That Old Black Magic" at Birdland in 1950. Getz is prominently featured on this track.

VG condition with glossy shellac, but with some moderate scuffing and scratches on both sides. Former owner's name in ink on one label.

Records will be sandwiched between cardboard, wrapped in bubble-wrap and shipped in a 12 x 12 x 6" box with plenty of packing material. I have years of safely packing and shipping 78s, so bid with confidence! I also gladly combine winning lots!
