1976 live album by Paul McCartney's band Wings "Wings Over America".
A bit of a long story how i got this rare British promo copy of this great live album.
Yes, i think it's one of the best live albums around. Wings were young, raw and Paul was in his prime writing brilliant music.
here is a short version:
In late 70's was vacationing on Cape Code and bumped into EMI regional sales guy at a bar. We chat about music. He invited me to his house for the next day. There I found a room full of EMI promo albums. He offered me some, whatever i liked. Being still young felt uncomfortable taking more than a few. Still wish I had such chance later in life. He clearly never bothered to listen to them.
I only played album a couple of times, kept stashed on a shelf. Vinyl is still in mint condition. Jacket is excellent, not mint on my standard but understandable since he wasn't a collector, albums were everywhere in that room, no plastic protection and promos are frequently not sealed. Poster I opened for the first time today to make photos. ( have standard US copy to play anyway ).
Vinyl sounds outstanding.
