McDONALD and GILES, (ex-King Crimson) – ILPS 9126 – Pink Label "i" logo

1970 stereo LP issued by Island Records on pink label with "i" logo (first pressing) catalogue number ILPS 9126, matrix nos. ILPS 9126 A-2U; ILPS 9126 B-2U. Self-titled debut album by Ian McDonald and Michael Giles (both original members of King Crimson). Tracks contain similar complex King Crimson elements without the darker tendencies. Side A: Suite in C, Flight of the Ibis, Is She Waiting? Tomorrow’s People – The Children of Today; side B: Birdman (21mins 45secs in 6-phases).

The disc is clean and shiny with occasional VERY faint marks. Each side has about 10/12 very light ticks plus 2 loud ticks on Side A and 1 on Side B. Overall quality is excellent. The disc has a noticeable slight warp on the turntable but this does not affect playing. The matt gatefold sleeve is intact but has scuffed corners and edges, owner’s name on ‘Dymo’ tape inside gatefold.
