Description
This is the original UK LP, by McGOUGH & McGEAR, self titled LP, stereo 1st Press, released in 1968 on the black and yellow PARLOPHONE label PCS 7047, with "THE GRAMOPHONE CO.LTD" label rim credits, and "Sold in the UK" label credits. Matrix numbers are, SIDE 1:- YEX 679-1, SIDE 2:- YEX 680-1, EMI stamper codes are, SIDE 1:- 1/R, SIDE 2:- 1/G, the album comes complete with the correct original UK "Use Emitex" die-cut inner sleeve. Roger McGough was one of the countries top poets, Mike McGear contributed with his superb Pop/Psych songs, both were members of Scaffold at the time. Jimi Hendrix plays guitar and sitar on the track "Ex-Art Student", and Graham Nash on Vocals, also featuring on the album are:- Spencer Davis, Dave Mason, Paul McCartney, John Mayall and Gary Walker, what a line up!. The 1st issue stereo original UK Garrod and Lofthouse flipback cover is in EX++ condition, lovely and clean, front and back, their is no unwanted writing, but for 3 very small initials on the back of the cover, top middle, which is not visually intrusive, the cover has no seam splits, the spine is fully intact, still broad, and perfectly readable, a great cover. The vinyl is in a stunning NEAR MINT condition, maintaining all it's original shine and lustre, I have played both sides (very carefully) and the audio grading is NEAR MINT!, the vinyl plays with BREATHTAKING clear clarity, the stereo is outstanding delivering a great warmth and depth to this superb LP!. The label's are quite simply in utterly STUNNING MINT condition!, perfectly clean and crisp, almost untouched, their is no unwanted writing, and no scuffs, the spindal hole has NO wear at all, crisp and clean, absolutely STUNNING label's!. The vinyl is housed in it's original correct 1968 UK "Use Emitex" die-cut inner sleeve and in EX+ condition, lovely and clean, with no unwanted writing, 2 of the seams are slightly split, but have been very carefully repaired. Altogether a beautiful copy of this MEGA RARE original 1st Press stereo UK LP, McGOUGH & McGEAR.
