Meet Beatles paste over slick Vinyl LP T 2047 Ray Anthony 1964 NOT BUTCHER Rare

I recently purchased a Meet the Beatles from someone locally because I had a decent jacket and they had a record with the damage to jacket. When I got home and examined the jacket a little bit closer I was surprised to see that the front slick appeared to be a paste over in the same fashion that the Yesterday and Today release was pasted over due to the objectionable cover.

So apparently the butcher cover was not the only time Capitol Records pasted one slick over. Sometimes, although not often, they would paste the slick of an album that was doing well for one that was not doing well. So I removed the slick and I actually did pretty good job of it (considering I had never done something like this before.)

The white splotches you see on the front of the slick are actually from some water damage that caused the paper from something else to stick on it. That’s actually paper on the front when you look at the back it’s pretty solid with a few marks where the glue was heavy. Part of the slick is missing from the upper left. I will include it…It broke off and also the backside lower left, I can also include that. The last photo (before the bonus LP) shows what it looks like inside the poly sleeve.

And I included a picture of the Ray Anthony top where you can see that the Beatles catalog number and title of the record is listed

Here’s what Google knows…”If your Meet the Beatles! jacket has a slick pasted over an unused Ray Anthony (or another Capitol artist) cover, you have a rare factory misprint or oddity from 1964. Capitol Records occasionally reused surplus or deleted album jacket inventory during peak production crunches by gluing new slicks on top, though this is distinct from the famous 1966 Yesterday and Today "Butcher Cover" paste-overs.”

I don’t have much else to say about it…if it’s of interest to you, I’ll pack it securely in a LP mailer in a poly sleeve. There will be no vinyl record included.

As a bonus I will include a copy of Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops playing Beatles songs in very nice condition with shrink wrap on it.
