Not for someone who is fussy about their vinyl surfaces - but very early and interesting genuine article from Summer 1964. <<STEREO>> , in summer 1964, was still something of a novelty in the USA.
Labels are consistent with the 3rd variation from summer 1964. There are two BMI credits On side 1 and one BMI credit on side 2. At 1st issue [after they'd bothered to put publishing credit on at all] - the original copies from January and February exhibited just ONE BMI credit. This copy, the next iteration, would have sold in the shops sometime between spring and the summer 1964. The vinyl comes housed in an original pasted-cover with Brown/Green colouring Beatles text. It looks more brown than green to me - perhaps fade is turning a bit green? Note, importantly, that there's NO George Martin credit on the rear - these are the early copies. We also have the original 1964 blue inner sleeve for Capitol releases. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) In pretty good condition, but has seen quite a bit of use. If you're in anyway not keen on a bit of marking - probably move onto the next copy. However, if you're someone who can compromise on looks to snag an early affordable copy...worth reading on. There are a good few marks either side - noticeable. One or two are semi-feelable but this is an early heavy pressing and it's quite forgiving. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. By and large a pretty decent player. Given the vintage I'd say pretty darn good really. Certainly not clean enough to hit the higher grades. But a more than capable performer by and large. A few crackles in the occasional spot. The only noticeable issues were.. In THIS BOY - a mark [mentioned above] causes a few clicks/pops in the middle of the track. The only track I witnessed noticeable interference in was 'TILL THERE WAS YOU'. This is always the most fussiest of tracks on either US or UK pressing. Plays OK - but not clean. Overall a very decent and enjoyable rendition. Providing you can live with those two faults - it's a perfectly decent player.
Cover (Vg) Difficult to find these early copies in great condition. This one is acceptable and no better. Pretty good front cover. There's a bit of surface wear - but its looking better than many copies. The rear has discoloured to a degree. More noticeable at the extremities. As I said - acceptable no batter. there's a fair bit of edge war and the top edge has split [I have tape repaired]. The spine is not too  bad - with 90% of text still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) A rip top right has been taped over. Bottom edge has been taped up.
