Meet The Beatles LP USA US ORIGINAL 1966 {1964 1st COVER?} [Ex/Ex] UPGRADER??

An original 1966 Rainbow Capitol LP from just two years from 1st release. Matrix W9/X10. Publishing credits - 2 X ASCAP and the rest are BMI. This variation was available Summer 1966. Note how the labels make no mention of the "Subsidiary.." text as found on later copies. The vinyl comes housed in an original paste-over cover. Note how the 'BEATLES' text is in TAN colour and that this is clearly a 'STEREO' cover [very similar, in fact, to the earliest 1st issue]. Note there is NO gold award certification on the front.  And, importantly on the rear, note that there is NO credit to "George Martin" AND it mentions using "a stereo cartridge and needle to avoid damage". So, whilst this copy looks so good it is hard to believe it's that early -- IT GENUINELY IS mid-sixties. Now, it is perfectly possible that this is actually an earlier cover still. I'll leave that to the experts - they will be able to determine if it is in perfect alignment with the original '64 release. I make no definitive claim other than the cover is original to the period "1964-1966". We also have an original Capitol Duotone advertising inner sleeve from 1964 - again a further indicator that the cover is looking very much like pre-1966. All authentic and in ridiculously good condition! The LP will ship in an anti-static inner sleeve for maximum protection.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In quite frankly awesome condition, shiny like new, and has only seen minimal use. Under close inspection I can barely make out a single mark - the surfaces are like mirrors. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with slight deviation in one track. Quite frankly a blindingly good copy and one doesn't imagine it is all that easy picking up copies in this kind of condition. Lovely bold wide-bodied sound. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet - don't expect silence inbetween tracks. But audio quality is really nice and it's difficult to find fault. It's all there in the mix and you can hear it ALL with really good clarity. By and large a really nice clean player. All I could detect was a bit of light background occasionally in 'This Boy'. Nothing intrusive or distracting at all - still more than acceptable. Other than that expect a few light crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. In summary - a superbly preserved copy that's more than capable of dishing out an excellent rendition consistently.
Cover (Ex) Wowzers - well, I think you'll really struggle to find an original mid-sixties cover looking quite this good. The USA copies are particularly known for surfacing with significant wear. Quite how this one has appeared looking this untarnished - is a mystery. But someone has clearly looked after it very carefully over a considerable period of time. The front is looking rather impressive. Only the very lightest wear just observable at the bottom edge and around the opening. But the overall image extremely well preserved with NO signs of ageing. And the rear just continues this theme. I don't think I've ever seen the rear this devoid of ageing - there's literally nothing at all. Only extremely slight handling in one or two spots. Edge wear is borderline non-existent. The only wear I can make out at all is a slight one inch patch in the middle at the bottom edge - other than that this baby is in pristine condition. Lovely sharp openings and four pointed corners [no bumps!]. The spine is 100% intact. No kidding at all - this must be incredibly hard to find. And again - just to reiterate...NO signs of ageing at all [believe the pics!]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. An absolute stunner.
Inner (Vg+) No ageing. A two inch side split. And a one inch bottom edge split.
