Description

  • Here is a MEGA RARE 1958 Atlantic PROMO 45 rpm record by Sonny West. West is a Lubbock Texas artist and Rockabilly hall of fame inductee! You will definitely recognize the A side: RAVE ON / Call on Cupid RARE 1st pressing on Atlantic records 1174. Fellow Lubbock Texan Buddy Holly recorded Sonny's song and turned it into a smash hit before his tragic early death along with Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. Holly had a knack for making other peoples songs better! 

The vinyl grades VG, lots of light marks and sleeve wear but plays well from start to finish. Very good sound quality with some surface noise and a few errant light pops. The music still comes through great! The labels have suffered some abuse as you can tell in the photos. 

 

The original Atlantic sleeve rates VG+/EX. Cool old Buddy Holly related relic!  (see all photos)
