Description
Megadeth Youthanasia ORIGINAL 1994 Gatefold LIMITED EDITION (I believe to 1000 copues) Blue Vinyl LP.
Reluctantly selling this great example of (at the time) modern metal from one of the original BIG FOUR thrash bands, alongside Metallica (of which Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is a former member, but if you know metal, you'll know this anyway), Slayer and Anthrax.
This is the original 1994 release of Megadeth's acclaimed album in Gatefold sleeve, on blue vinyl with a fully-printed inner sleeve of song lyrics.
Featuring the singles 'Train of Consequences' and 'A Toute Le Monde' (re-recorded in recent times with Christina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil).
From Wikipedia
Youthanasia is the sixth studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released on 1 November 1994 through Capitol Records. The album is not a large stylistic departure from the band's earlier recordings; however it marked the continuing evolution of Megadeth, following the footsteps of the previous album Countdown to Extinction(1992). The album's title is a play on words, implying that society is euthanizing its youth. The cover art features an elderly woman hanging babies by their feet on a seemingly endless clothesline; the artwork concept was directly inspired from a line of the title track.
--------------------------------------------------
Condition is Used and has been stored, upright, in a solid wooden container, unplayed, in my old bedroom at my mother's for at least the last 15 years.
Given it's age, there are obvious signs of general wear and tear but I think it's in pretty great condition in the circumstances although please note the slight creating on the gatefold spine and the area at the top right of the front cover where the glossy sheen has come away when removing the original price sticker - damn you HMV circa 1994!
Dispatched with Royal Mail signed for.
In will have a couple more Megadeth rarities in due course from the same album; Train of Consequences 12" Etched single (STILL SEALED) and the 7" Clear vinyl with sticker. Please save me as a seller for as and when I get chance to list these great items!
For info, there is another seller listing this very same item for £199.99 (as well as charging for postage) however, I think my copy has a better gatefold sleeve condition around the edges. Check it out below;
