Description
Here's a real rock 'n' roll party relic that's a little worse for the wear, yet still has a lot of life in it - not to mention a little archaic character! An original 1955 Sun pressing of Elvis Presley's "Mystery Train" b/w "I Forgot To Remember To Forget" with -- as you'll see from the photos -- some heat damage to both sides. Initially I thought it was a cigarette burn, but then realized it was almost as if someone set both sides near a heater. However, the culprit could not kill The Hillbilly Cat! If you listen to the sound clips, you'll hear that the songs play through loud and strong with no skips, jumps or bad clicks.
There is no warping whatsoever and other than the heat marks, the record is a very glossy VG. There is a short "tick" on the "Mystery Train" side that actually sounds almost in perfect time with Bill Black's bass slap. Personally, I always thought it was kind of a cool defect! Please listen to the complete sound clips from both sides below.
Please check my other listings for plenty of rare, small label, privately pressed and otherwise unique records.
All records are original US pressings, I do not sell reissues.
