First 2 albums and Radio Session 12" by Folk-Punk/Indie-Folk band The Men They Couldn't Hang. Their use of instruments such as mandolin, bouzouki, tin whistle and melodica make them forefathers to current indie-folksters such as Mumford and Sons and folk-punkers such as Against Me and Gogol Bordello.
Their songs often had political leanings and commented on social/current affairs at the time such as the miners strike, or were stories with historical origins, for example the experience of an English mutineer soldier in the Napoleonic War.
