Description
Out of print Limited-Edition vinyl LP boxset. Numbered-Box, this is 284/3000. If you’ve ever searched for this, you would know how rare it is (there's no other on any market place, hasn't been for a long time).
Why? I propose that Volume 1 is the real deal, containing the must-be-heard recordings on 6 LPs that made the legends of Mercury Living Presence series. Owners never part with them, such musical treasures, and how can they be replaced?
With original LP sleeves. Every LP has been expertly cut at the Emil Berliner Studios. The pressings from Optimal are on 180gm vinyl stock. Content from the excellent booklet essay is published as a 12-inch, LP-format square booklet.
Mercury Living Presence is special in many ways - an American company, from the heyday of classical recording in the USA, that reproduced some of the most sonically realistic recordings at the dawn of the stereo era, and remain the reference even today.
Precious few stereo LPs were pressed when these recordings were issued, and they became some of the rarest, most collectible classical discs ever. Mercury Living Presence continues to enjoy a special reputation as one of the most enterprising, prestigious and sonically-spectacular labels in the history of classical recording.
The original SR numbered LP records are each worth many hundreds of dollars, and practically unobtainable even if you are willing to pay for them. Never mind having all 6. This limited re-release is state of the art when it comes to surface quietness, which overall makes it more than a match of the originals.
Don’t miss out !
