Description

An original 1st press of AJFA from summer 1988. Correct Vertigo labels for the original summer 1988 release. Vertigo stamped information in deadwax "masterdisk DMM" etc etc. The vinyl comes housed in original DRG generic white inners date coded to summer 1988. PLEASE NOTE - there are NO original black lyric inners..these are clearly missing.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and have clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection I cannot make out more than a couple of light marks per side - absolutely nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slightest deviation. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A nigh on faultless rendition with really clean and powerful audio. You need the power to convey the full force of Metallica. But there's still a requirement for a clean and clear output for those quiet acoustic moments. This copy delivers both across the whole of four sides with one slight exception. Even in the opening moments of "To Live Is To Die" barely a hint of interference. You might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side - that's yer lot! The only deviation is a couple of light ticks during the intro to side 1 [no big deal]. It's a nigh on perfect rendition which delivers this Metallic classic as only a clean 1st press can.
Cover (Ex) In lovely clean and shiny condition - clearly a careful owner. Lovely clean and flat front and rear. I'm struggling to make out a single crease either side - and there's barely any signs of wear or ageing. Edge wear is extremely slight and the openings are still sharp. The spine looks great with just two 1mm spots of wear. All text fully legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inners (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
