Description
On offer here is a Very Limited Edition vinyl box set by Metallica, issued in the United States by Rhino in 2004. I bought this box set new from my then local independent record store, removed the shrink wrap but never played them, so they are in the condition that I received them in except I have played the first tracks as detailed below, please read carefully!
5,000 copies were made for worldwide sale, this is number 4193.
The set comprises of Kill ‘Em All, Master Of Puppets, And Justice For All and Ride The Lightning, all double LP’s. It also has the $5.98 EP Garage Days Revisited and Creeping Death Picture Disc. All the discs except Creeping Death are pressed on 180gram vinyl.
The black textured box has the number impressed on the front, and has a crease in the top left edge of the bottom part of the box ( see photo) . Other than that the box is Near Mint.
I always check albums on my turntable ( J A Michell Gyrodek with and SME Series IV arm) . There is some up and down movement on some of the LP’s, and I have tried to be as detailed as possible about this below.
Kill ‘Em All both LP’s quite pronounced, only affects the first tracks and perfectly playable on my turntable.
Master Of Puppets 1st disc fine 2nd disc slight
And Justice For All both fine
Ride The Lightning Ist disc side one slight up and down side two fine
Side three fine side four very very slight
$5.98 Garage Days side one fine side two very very slight
Creeping death side one very slight side two fine
A lot of US imports suffered from a degree of warping at this time, I knew some people at the time who ordered these box sets but took them back as some discs were unplayable, this set has been affected but really only Kill ‘Em All to any degree and as I have said is playable on my sensitive high end system.

This is a very rare box set that was quickly sold out from a very limited one off run and due to the imperfections listed is offered at a bargain starting price, a real opportunity to acquire their very limited ( and very expensive) box set.
The records will be very well protected and sent in a heavy duty “Pizza” style box set mailer made by Covers 33, as used by Mail Order Record companies.
