Description
Up for sale is a vintage Metallica Master of Puppets stereo vinyl record LP from 1986 with a catalog number of R 134552, as issued by Elektra/Asylum Records. This vinyl record had been given to us by a friend and wound up stored in a milk crate for well over a few decades (since the late nineties or early 2000's) and built up quite a bit of dust on it. I cleaned it up for the purpose of this sale, however, it still does exhibit some visible wear on it.

The matrix numbers on the innermost groove of this record appears as follows... on side one, there's a handwritten inscription which reads ED N11 SF1 SM5 R134552A. The next portion is intentionally scratched out and reads STE 60439-A; the rest of the suffix is not scratched out and continues to read -DMM-1-SP0-2. A little further on down the groove, a handwritten Sterling Sound with the suffix -DMM-1 can also be read. On side 2, the matrix code reads R-134552-B and once again has the following portion intentionally scratched out. That portion reads: STE-60439-B and is once again followed by the unscratched suffix which reads -DMM1 followed by SPO (or is it 0?)-1. A little further on down this groove, and the same Sterling Sound handwritten portion can be spotted along with the same DMM-1 suffix again (just like the other side). Finally there's a fainter EDM1SF1SM1 that is also handwritten just before the main matrix code.
The album cover is in fairly good shape, with a minimal amount of scuff marks apparent along the corners. The spline has a bit of flaking on it and the paper sleeve has been torn; which causes the record to fall out completely from the opposite side of the insert pouch. This is probably the reason why the side loading paper sleeve has been intentionally turned sideways and put into the album to prevent it from falling out and whatnot. The other interesting thing about this album is that there is no UPC code in the box at the top right on the back of the album. I'm not exactly sure if this is indicative of a really early pressing or not, but I am aware that this record is pretty collectible, which is why I'm pricing it to move.

The record has scratches and/or fingerprints on it from previous use; most likely done by the previous owner as I have no recollection of ever playing this record, nor can I test it out since I don't have a working record player at my disposal. I'm pretty sure this album will make a nice addition to anyone's vinyl collection out there, so be sure to get in on this deal while it still lasts.
