Similar to Metallica - Ride The Lightning and Metallica - Ride The Lightning but with the following differences:
- No space between "Made in France" and credits on both side of label.
- "Metallica" logo has distance from the hole on both side of label.
- Inner sleeve doesn't have a pocket cut.

Pressing plant info taken from the Matrix / Runout area.
Track A3: Typo on the back sleeve, "For whom the bells toll", instead of "For whom the bell tolls".

Selling on behalf of a mate of my Dad’s. Purchased new back in the mid 80’s after seeing Metallica at the Lyceum in London.

The disc has been played through (on headphones) in the last few weeks with my Mate detailed audio playback notes as follows (to help you asses the quality).

Listening Notes:

Side A.

1 Fight Fire With Fire- No intrusive surface noise, perhaps one click (only)

2 Ride the Lightning – One click early in track.

3 For whom the bells toll – Very slight surface noise at end of track.

Fade to Black – Very slight surface noise at beginning and in run off.

Side B.

1.    Trapped under Ice – Very slight surface noise at end of track.

2.    Escape – Clear.

3.    Creeping Death – One click on 2nd verse (possibly!) Very slight surface noise at end of track.

4.    The Cal of Ktula – Very slight surface at start of track, one click around halfway.

General – Some surface noise but not intrusive. No audible scratches (repeat clicks). Nothing that took away from the listening quality of the tracks. What a great album (I’d forgotten how good it was until I listened to it very closely through headphones!)

Laminated single sleeve with just the lightest of edge and corner scuffs. Main issue is a number of very light peripheral pinch marks, most noticeable on the spine, though the text remains legible.

Double sided record bag in Ex condition with just light surface handling finger smudges. Alas no merch flyer.

Disc looks in Ex condition with deep glossy lustre and no obvious visual defects. No spindle wear. Not played too much back in the day as it was replaced by the double disc version soon after.

Selling on behalf of a mate of my Dad (who supplied all the info) from his personal collection, from the olden days when he collected vinyl.

I aim to use recycled packaging when appropriate.

However, all vinyl is despatched using top quality Defendapack QP2 Quick Pack Multi Music Max mailers with additional stiffening inserts. So You can rest assured that your vinyl will be well packed and protected against the trials of postal travel!

A few words about the vinyl grading.

I try to be as honest as possible, but all grades are based upon an experienced but ultimately subjective visual inspection, trying to identify and highlight obvious issues.

Back in the day whilst my Dad purchased much of the vinyl new, as he expanded his collection, (eventually running into a few thousand discs) hence many only played once, inevitably he was drawn to second hand (pre-loved) copies of certain discs, including the rarer original 1970’s issue boots.

As you will appreciate, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this or looking at the listing, the nature of many of these live/unofficial recordings meant that original production standards were not necessarily a top priority, with occasional mastering/pressing faults occurring.

Similarly with any second hand vinyl which in some cases is almost 50 years old they will potentially exhibit aural signs of having been played, sometimes a fair bit..these are not mint, new unplayed discs (unless stated).

The attraction for my Dad was either obtaining the different variations of an issue or otherwise unavailable rare recordings…its called collecting!

When playing vinyl my Dad had a Technics SL1800 turntable with Ortfon cartridge, so no thrashing and grinding on an old  fidelity UA4! (early 70’s starter bedroom lo-fi, crank it up 😊).

If you are a non UK bidder, in the EU (and the rest of the world), please be aware that following 'Brexit', your package may be liable for import duties. These are your responsibilities and will be collected by the courier.

Orders from EU countries

You will be liable for import VAT at the time of delivery via the postal/courier service in your country. The amount of the VAT payable will depend on how the items are classed for VAT in your country. 

The exact implementation of this is likely to vary across different postal services, and there may be some grace period for orders from the UK over the initial weeks and months in some countries, especially for items in transit on 1st January 2021.

Didn't the UK and EU sign a free-trade deal?

Yes, but the UK-EU Free Trade deal agreed on December 24th 2020 means that duties will not be payable on the vast majority of goods moving between the UK and EU. However, duties and VAT are different things, and this does not impact on the VAT measures detailed above.
