White label promo records are hot collectibles. This one is no exception and makes a great addition to the collection of any serious fan of Metallica.
Important Condition Notes: The record is in Excellent/Near Mint condition Played to test for this auction. Sounds great. Super clean. I, the seller, have been the only owner of this copy. Acquired when I worked in a record store at the time of the record release in 1987. Record is stored in a protective Discwasher Valuable Record Protector sleeve.
The jacket, as with my other Metallica vinyl auction items, has seen better days, but is still in Very Good condition. Was in excellent condition prior to being damaged by water several years ago. Please also note - since this was a promo - that there is a promo marking notch cut into a small area of the upper left portion of the jacket spine (see photos). The water damage is minimal and effected the bottom quarter of the jacket. At a glance, the damage is hardly noticeable, but it is there. I’ve attempted to show that damage in the photos. The original generic Elektra paper sleeve is included with the jacket. That paper sleeve also shows flaws from the water damage. It’s simply a little wrinkly. As mentioned above, the record has been safely stored in special protection sleeve.
Moral to the story about the condition flaws: Don’t place the ‘M’ section of your record collection on a floor that could one get soaked due to a plumbing leak. That was a sad day, but luckily everything was salvageable and the records live on!
