Description

This is part of a large auction featuring blues, R&B and doo-wop, all from Chicago-based labels. There is a lot of great stuff here from many Chicago artists including Little Walter, Muddy Waters and other forefathers of the genre with few bonus listings as well.

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1954


Notes: Red label first pressing. Very early single by James. A Chicago artist on a Memphis-based subsidiary of an LA-area label. A-side is much more of an R&B instrumental featuring JT "Sax Man" Brown. A noted saxophonist who appeared on many many blues records. The b-side is a straight blues, and a great one. 


Vinyl Condition: VG+, Vinyl itself is in nice shape and super-clean with almost no wear at all, just a couple of very light scuffs. It plays well and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, hardly any background noise at all. Labels are very nice, again with some light scuffing, but no tears or stickers. This is a nice copy overall. 


All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. Check back in a couple of weeks for another new genre auction: dance records from the 70's to the early 2000's.
