Metta Benevolence BBC 6 Music: Live On The Invitation Of Mary Anne Hobbs (gatefold 2xLP with obi-strip)

Southern Lord US

Cat: SUNN 400. Rel: 31 Jan 22
Post Rock/Experimental

Side 1. Pyroclasts F Side 2. Pyroclasts C# Side 3. Troubled Air Side 4. Troubled Air (continued)

Sunn O))) was invited onto the influential Mary Ann Hobb's much loved BBC 6Music radio show to perform live back in October 2019 for a broadcast on Samhain. Metta, Benevolence is the resulting session that saw the experimental American band lay down some majestic new versions of tracks from their 'Life Metal' and 'Pyroclasts' albums. Joining the band on synth and performing vocals was Swedish singer Anna Von Hauswolff who helped evaluate each tune and take them in brave new directions. These four pieces are as good as post-rock experiments get, frankly.
