MISFITS - 12 Hits From Hell (The MSP Sessions / Aug. 7th 1980) - LP
I'm thinning out some of the duplicates from my vinyl collection...this one is a sweet copy of the out-of-print Misfits' bootleg, 12 Hits From Hell. It is on black vinyl with an orange-outline logo on the cover (the latest pressing has a green logo and yellow vinyl). This copy also has "12 Hits From The Hell" error on the spine of the jacket (fixed on the recent press).
Leave it to the 'fits to have their greatest record available only as a bootleg. This is hands-down the band's best performance, captured during what was easily their best-sounding recording session.
....BUT...former members managed to grumble this album out of existence. Glenn Danzig (who went on to start Samhain and Danzig) and Jerry Only (who was in a Christian band before joining a Misfits tribute band called The Misfits) both decided that they didn't want anyone to hear a Misfits record with songs that were played well AND recorded well (it was one or the other - or sometimes neither!). So, promotional copies that had already been sent out for review were recalled. The CDs that were already manufactured were destroyed before they shipped to any stores. A legit vinyl edition of this album has never been authorized.
...and that's really a damn shame.
CONDITION: I am the original owner of this item; I purchased it new and played it twice. Jacket has very minor signs of wear.

GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARDS:
M (mint) Record is new, shiny, never played.
NM (near mint) Record is like new, probably played a few times, but it doesn't effect the quality of a sound.
EX (excellent) Record in great shape, may have light marks, played more than a few times but low in surface noise or no surface noise.
VG+ (very good plus) Record has been played more times, it has more marks and surface noise, it doesn't skip.
VG (very good) Record has been played many times, may be more surface noise, but it shouldn't skip while playing.
G (good) Record is in bad condition, this is worth only for archive items - just to have that until you find a better copy
