Michael Gibbs - Deram LP - Stereo SML 1063
Original pressing of this classic of British Jazz including such luminaries as Henry Lowther, John Surman, Alan Skidmore, Ray Russell and Jack Bruce. To my mind the better of his first two recordings (See my other listings for Tanglewood 63 also an original pressing) and this one is in really lovely condition
Vinyl is VG+ with original lustre and very few signs of wear of having been played at all. Very slight spindle marking and a couple of minor hairlines. Looks to have been played only a few times since new and looked after.
Sleeve is VG+ and again is in very nice condition. No ring wear, no lifting of the laminate, no bumped or creased corners and no damage to the spine. The only issue that stops me grading it higher is that the sleeve gapes slightly. Not sure what has caused this but I would have thought that a few weeks filed away amongst other records would cure it.
Will be sorry to see this go but not really my main area of interest and with 3,000 LPs I don't get the chance to listen to a lot of stuff from one years end to the next. Hence higher starting price but still very reasonable for this piece in such good condition.
