Voici le catalogue de la vente aux enchères qui eut lieu les 30 et 31 mai 2007 au Hard Rock Hotel de Las Vegas, vente présentée alors par ses organisateurs comme la plus importante jamais consacrée à Michael Jackson et sa famille. Cet événement proposait des disques d'or, des manuscrits, des récompenses, des costumes de scènes et des centaines d'objets personnels (souvent de vraies curiosités), soit 1.100 lots au total, datant plus particulièrement des années 70 et 80.
Tous ces objets étaient entreposés depuis des années dans un hangar d'un associé du chanteur, associé qui a fait faillite. Ses créanciers les ont saisis. Michael Jackson (et sa sœur Janet) avaient essayé de s'opposer à la vente avant que le dossier ne soit résolu à l'amiable, une partie des recettes devant profiter à des organisations caritatives.
Au final, les organisateurs affirment que la vente a réalisé entre 1,5 et 2 millions de dollars de recettes, et ont promis d'en organiser une autre.
Ce catalogue de 235 pages (édition limitée) est en bon état, illustré de centaines de photos couleurs et descriptions ultra détaillées. Un must abolu !

You're bidding on a fantastic catalogue that was created in an extremely LIMITED EDITION to promote the Jackson Family Memorabilia Auction being held live at Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel on May 30 and 31, 2007.
The Jacksons Collection contained thousands of items from the “King of Pop” and his talented siblings from as far back as their first appearances as the Jackson Five on through the early 1990's. Fabulous stage worn costumes and personal clothing, props and instruments, awards, gold records and paper ephemera (from performance contracts and unpublished photographs to hand written music), on to items given to Michael and his brothers and sisters by other legendary entertainers and sports superstars made up only a portion of this unprecedented collection.
An auction house had purchased these Jackson family items that belonged to one of the singer's associates but were seized by creditors when the person went bankrupt. Jackson himself initially opposed the auction before the matter was resolved amicably. Over 1,100 Jackson family items brought in between $1.8 million and $2.4 million. Ten percent of the proceeds of the sale were donated to charities. The company has promised to hold another auction of Michael Jackson’ s memorabilia.
This luscious, beautifully designed 235-page catalogue includes hundreds of colour pictures and descriptions of these spectacular personal Jackson Family items. A must-have !
