Description
You are bidding on a rare test pressing copy of the Michael Jackson - Doggin' Around 45 single. This is an unreleased single with the mono and stereo version of the same song! This song was apparently slated for release on Motown Records in the U.S. in 1974 as Motown single 1270 along with the song Up Again for the B side, but was shelved by the label and was only released in the Netherlands that year. Apparently, the label also made test pressings with the both mono and stereo versions of Doggin' Around on the same single, most likely for potential promo use only to send out to FM and AM radio stations, which is exactly what you are bidding on in this auction! This test pressing was done at the Columbia Records pressing plant in Santa Maria, California. In the dead wax it is inscribed for side A (the mono side) M-1270-AM-1A RE-1 and on side B (the stereo side) M-1270-AS-1A RE-1. Needless to say, this is a very rare single! The record is visually in VG condition with a few light surface scuffs but plays and sounds great, more like a VG+ condition record! The record labels are in VG condition and have writing on the labels and notate the song and which side is mono and which side is stereo. No sleeve of course like all test pressings, we will ship the record in a generic sleeve. PLEASE do not ask us for a buy it now price! No reserve, so bid away!

We visually grade all our records for sale and grade both the record and the jacket. We go by general standards for grading, which are:
Mint (M) - an unplayed, new copy of a record. no visual defects!
Near Mint (NM) - a nearly perfect record that has usually only been played 1-3 times, in "like new" condition.
Very Good + (VG+) - record still in excellent condition but has minor signs of wear such as surface scuffs/light scratches that don't affect the play. jacket has minor signs of wear such as light ringwear, edgewear, shelfwear, and/or light creasing.
Very Good (VG) - record has more wear than VG+ and may have some slight surface noise, light pops, some scuffs or scratches. generally still a great playing copy. jacket may have more wear, writing, sticker residue, punch out/cut out holes or corners.
Very Good - (VG-) - record has noticeable groove wear, surface noise, scratches, and/or scuffs but still a decent playing copy. jacket has heavier wear and may have a small split seam.
Good + and Good (G+ and G) - record still plays without skipping but has considerable amounts of groove wear, surface noise, scuffs, and/or scratches. jacket has alot of wear and some defects such as split seams, heavy creasing, writing, marks, sticker residue, etc...
