Michael ZACHAREWITSCH, violinist
(b Ostrov, 1879; d London, 1953). Russ.-born violinist (Brit. cit. 1915). Début Odessa 1894 in Tchaikovsky conc., cond. by composer. Later studied in Prague with Šev?ik and with Ysaÿe in Brussels. Eng. début 1903; settled in Eng. 1909. Wrote treatise on violin playing, 1934. Wrote vn. conc. Dunkirk 1940 (1945).
