Description
nw_ecpFantastic and obscure Michigan garage / psych 45 by The Lykes of Us on MOLT 6801 : Tell Me Why Your Light Shines b/w 7:30 Said. The band was from Trenton, Michigan, and this single was recorded at the WHEELS 4 studio in Dearborn, Michigan. Only 500 copies were pressed back in early 1968 and only sold locally mostly by band members at their high school. This copy shows light wear to the labels and the record play grades a NICE VG overall. As you can see in the pictures, there is some minor label tearing / separation near the spindle hole. There are NO cracks to the vinyl itself. In fact, it appears that this happened at the time of pressing as the label is completely adhered to the vinyl and there is no peeling of the label off the record. Please click on the microphone icon for an unaltered soundclip of the actual record being offered here. Please see my other auctions.
Grading Scale:
NM = A near perfect record in every way. Record shows no obvious signs of wear.
VG++ = Somewhere between VG+ and Near Mint.
VG+ = Record has been played, but previous owner took good care of it. Record will have light scuffs or light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. VERY little to no background/surface noise will be heard while the record is playing.
VG = Light to moderate Background/surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's fade and intro. This background noise will not overpower the music otherwise, however. Groove wear and light scratches (deep enough to affect sound) will be noticeable. Still a nice record.
VG- = Somewhere between VG and G+.
G/G+ = Significant surface noise upon playing. Scratches and visible groove wear will be evident. Record will play through without skipping or sticking however.
Fair/Poor = I do not ever sell records at this grade, but they would be cracked, severly warped, with skips or sticks, or have obvious signs of HEAVY play. Basically it will serve better as a coaster than a record.
I grade strictly by Goldmine's standards. Please ask questions before you bid. I accept Pay Pal or M.O.
