Day Group Ltd embossed matt Sleeve in EX Condition, the plain inner in EX condition & the Record in EX Condition. With great tracks from Mick Abrahams including; 'Winds Of Change & Greyhound Bus'. Description
Original UK Chrysalis/Island label stereo press LP.The first album by the Mick Abrahams Band was issued in 1971, after Blodwyn Pig had split up in late 1970. The debut album by Mick Abrahams new band moved away from the earlier guitar/saxophone sound of Blodwyn Pig and featured a more bluesy, laid-back guitar style. The opening track Greyhound Bus was featured on the Island compilation album El Pea. Although popular on the club circuit, chart success proved elusive and the band spilt after the release of their second album At Last, in 1972.
This is the original issue with the embossed rear gatefold cover with the green Chrysalis/white i labels, ILPS-9147 matrix and the early A-1U B-1U matrices.
The matt sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing on the inner cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain inner is intact & in EX condition.
The record is in visually EX condition, with a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines & one or two needle small scuffs/marks visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side.
The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves and a few low clicks on track 1 side 2 caused by a small needle mark. Overall, just a really great, loud & lively listen.
The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9147, A-1U stamper 2-GD, B-1U stamper 3-GG. This is one of early copies of the first pressing of the original UK stereo issue of this classic 1971 album!
