Description
Original UK Dandelion label stereo press LP.Mike Hart's first UK LP, released in 1969. After The Liverpool Scene Mike Hart went solo with songs marrying emotional themes to singalong hooks, Hart's unreliability and fondness for alcohol ultimately torpedoed his chances, but not before he recorded a couple of albums, the best being this debut for John Peel's Dandelion label in 1969. The gallows humour of the title is typical of the self-mocking, Lennon-esque tone of bruised sincerity underpinning most of his songs, which are ripped from the pages of his personal life. With the very earliest A-1 B-1 matrices & A/11 B//4 mother stampers of the 1969 1st issue!
The Shorewood matt sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some corner/edge wear, a couple of creases on the front cover and some light storage rubbing/creasing on the rear cover. The spine is still intact, but worn and mostly readable, the plain inner is intact & in EX condition. The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines and one or two needle marks on side 1 and a couple of faint hairlines on side 2. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings on either side. Overall the record still retains its original sheen and looks great. The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves and briefly in a couple of the quieter passages, overall, still a really great listen. The matrix nos. are; SBPG-63756, A-1 mother stamper A-11, B-1 mother stamper B-4. This is one of the early 1st pressings of the original 1969 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
