Yes folks this is the rare one which was withdrawn because of the track 'Sally'. This was later replaced by a track called 'Into Wonderland'.

Play graded and plays really nice.

'Sally' was a song about Mike's feelings for his girlfriend Sally Cooper. Sung by Mike and Nico Ramsden, it contained the chorus "Sally, I'm just a gorilla, I'll say I'll love you ever more/Even an ape from Manila couldn't stop me knocking on your door". On hearing this, Virgin boss Richard Branson took an instant disliking to the song and demanded that it should be removed from the album, to be replaced by 'Into Wonderland' sung by Wendy Roberts (although when interviewed by David Porter in 1995, Wendy Roberts said she thought that the track which she recorded was called Sally, and knew nothing of what had gone on with the replacing of the original song). Some copies had already been pressed, so the early pressings of the LP contain the song Sally. All the rest contain Into Wonderland, although the album artwork was never updated, so the labels still say Sally (as do the CDs I've seen). The song contains various musical links with Punkadiddle. Some people with the original album feel that 'Sally' fits much better into the album than its replacement. For the song, Mike asked producer and engineer Tom Newman to disguise the voices of him and Nico Ramsden. Tom applied what's now known as 'telephonic' EQ (equalisation) to their voices. That is, he cut the bass and boosted the mid-range (called telephonic because it sounds a bit like it's coming down a telephone). Mike's ideas of disguising his voice continued through his early 80s albums, with his use of vocoders and other electronic gadgetry.

Vinyl Grading Guideline for Classical LP's.

Due to the age and rarity of classical and other old LP's and the challenge of grading them fairly I have arrived at a grading system which I apply solely to classical records as shown below. Quite often I will grade them on a track by track or 'band' basis given that some can be perfect whilst others may have the odd 'tick' or other sound. The basic grading guide can also be applied to all other vinyl records listed here.

I will always endeavour to provide good clear photos of the vinyl and the sleeve and will always be the actual item and not someone else's or a stock photo. I realise the doubts in buyers minds of 'buying blind' over the internet so I try to minimise this.

Mint  I use this to describe items where the record and sleeve are sealed

Mint- The record and sleeve have been opened but never or rarely played and showing no visible wear in either case

Near Mint The record and sleeve are very close to new, the record will have been played but with no lessening in visible or audible sound quality.

Near Mint- The record and sleeve are very close to new, the record will have been played with no lessening in visible or audible sound quality with the exception of maybe one or two occassional soft 'ticks'.

Excellent+  The record will have a good clean surface and play perfectly well with visible signs of having been played. There may be passages of soft 'ticks' (where these are more than just 'soft' I will specify). There may in a few cases be one or two audible 'pressing pops' which will be part of the original pressing. An excellent sleeve may have some creases, laminate lift but will usually be very minor in nature.

Very Good+ The record will show signs of previous ownership as will the sleeve. There may longer passages of ticks (but will specify of these run into long periods). The sleeve may have some small pen writing (perhaps a name or a date) usually on the rear. Perhaps some small signs of wear.

I generally do not offer up for sale records which fall below Very Good+.

In general I will refund the full amount including shipping (but will not pay for the return shipping costs). If an item sells for over £50 I will also deduct my ebay seller fees from the refund amount.
