Description
Mike Oldfield The Songs Of Distant Earth Vinyl LP. WEA. Extremely rare.
This auction is for a very rare vinyl LP record of The Songs Of Distant Earth, the seminal 1994 ambient space album by Mike Oldfield that was inspired by the novel of the same name by Arthur C. Clarke.
This album was only ever manufactured in very limited quantity, in Germany. Less than 1000 were printed worldwide. I bought this copy about 15 years ago from another collector, as I truly believe it's Mike's greatest ever piece of music.
However, in all these years, I have never listened to the vinyl LP - preferring to leave it untouched.
The slip case has wear. There is edge wear, and some creasing in some of the corners. However, the broad surface of the front and rear is clear and presentable.
The vinyl LP itself is basically pristine - a few tiny flecks of dust I suppose, but I can't see any scratches or flaws. The previous owner probably never played it, and as I said, neither have I.
Please see all 12 pictures.
A great piece for the Mike Oldfield collector, and a very rare chance to add this one to your vinyl collection.
It will be packed very carefully and heavily padded, for the winning bidder.
