Description
Title: Tubular Bells
Artist: Mike Oldfield
Catalog: USA CBS Mastersound HE 44116
Jacket: Near mint as new in original polybag with Mastersound seal on back unbroken. No dings, dents, cuts or wear.
LP: Near mint as new.
Notes: The magnum opus by multi-instrumentalist Mike Oldfield. The opening section was used in the movie “The Exorcist”. This pressing is from circa 1980. I only have the original US Virgin pressing but remember having this on cassette made from a co-worker’s copy of this edition. I remember the mix is slightly different as I was very familiar with the original. I cannot find any concrete confirmation but I believe the mix used for this issue is from the original UK “Mike Oldfield BOXED” that came out sometime after “Ommadawn”. The version of Tubular Bells in that BOXED set is a stereo remix of the Quadrophonic version.
WIKI also has this statement: A 1981 release that was re-mastered by Ray Janos at CBS Recording Studios, New York, N.Y. on the CBS DisComputer System. Barcode 07464341161.
