Mike Proctor ‘A’ side- MR COMMUTER...’B’ side ‘SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY. On the Columbia Label, Catalogue Number ‘DB8254’ 45RPM Vinyl 7” Single, Mono, with 4-Prong Push Out Centre, Made in Great Britain, Release date 25th August 1967. His ONLY Solo Single Columbia ever released.
A lot to read, but it is Important you do!
Most Importantly the record plays through fine on both sides, with no skips, jumps tics, or ‘pops’.
Sound quality wise -and being ‘really’ critical,...
Side A has a Very small amount/negligible low crackle on the way in over the intro (Train approaching at speed) which quickly (within a second or so) disappears, then plays through with no problems.Would describe sound quality rating as ‘Very Good + (Plus).
The B side, again gets a ‘Very Good + (Plus),’ sound quality rating, -the sound quality is the same as side A, (most 1960’s records seem to have this very brief intro crackle trait present, even in near mint condition)
Photos taken
Visually the A side, - it gets a ‘Very Good’ only because there is a faint light line/mark/hairline scratch visible, and some other very very light ‘ghost’ marks, however it plays through, —-with no sound indication that they are actually there. I have tried to show these, but it is difficult, -in some lighting they don’t show at all,- so some of the photos were taken in bright sunlight, with really ‘non flattering’ quite ‘Brutal’ photos at an angle to ‘emphasise the very minor marks -I have tried to show the light hairline mark/line/scratch in photos No 3,4,5 & 6...( it’s at the 4, O’clock position on the record)
Visually, the B side again it gets a ‘Very Good’ as there are 3 faint light hairline scratches and other ‘very light ghost marks’, —-this side also plays through —with no sound indication that they are actually there. Again I’ve tried to show these -over emphasise them in photos No’s 8,9,10 ,11 & 12 (they are at the 10, & 1, O’clock positions on the record), you cannot ‘feel’ the faint light hairline lines/marks/scratches with your finger, on either side of the record... (In the first two photos there are reflections near and in the runout area, -these if you look carefully are actually of the sleeve and surrounding objects,- they are not marks!, any reflections in the rest-in bright sunlight are the clouds!
Both labels are Very Good + (plus), nice and Black with bright clearly defined Silver lettering
The photos I hope, are a true reflection of the records condition, but in the lighting used ‘Do exaggerate/over emphasise’ any slight marks, ..I would rather this than you be duped into expecting a record in mint condition,. which could be easily suggested if the photos were taken in the right light, as some advertised actually do. Hopefully then, any surprise you may have, will be a good one!
Comes in ‘Very Good + (plus) Company sleeve, which is both date and record reference number correct, with slight aged yellowing
Please study all photos very carefully as they form part of the description. I have used the grading as used on ‘Discogs’ .....Overall it makes VG+ (with the light faint marks/hairline scratches) They state VG+ -as. ‘Will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it’. .....This is as opposed to their VG rating stating...’noticeable groove wear and light surface scratches surface noise will not overpower the music’.....so I believe that sound wise it is definitely worthy of a VG + .......and visually, more than a VG, so worthy of the start of a VG+ grading.....you’l have to make your own mind up as to what grading my description and the photos of it falls into, as everyone has a slightly different opinion, but with the info above you can make an informed one. (I have been asked about an ‘excellent’ rating....Some people insert an excellent grading between VG+ and MN,.. this though drops a VG+, down to a VG,... this is not the case here....again I have used the Discogs.com grading ratings/system, please visit their site for clarification or if confused!).
Played and graded on my middle of the road Pioneer deck, speakers, with a good needle & decent speaker wire.
Will post - next day service to address instructed by you, ....if you send a Courier then they collect with cash, acting directly as your agent, -with a courier the item and all responsibility for it belongs to you from the moment it is paid for and leaves my possession (sorry otherwise I have no safeguard/insurance whilst it’s enroute to you) Whatever service you use, payment within 3 days or it will be relisted. ....Important, -ebay have recently ‘cut out’ PayPal for a Seller,.. you the Buyer, can still pay by this method, -but it goes to ebay direct, who then then sit on the money- and interest, for up to four working days before paying direct into the sellers bank,..(can be sooner).. I will not ‘release’ the record until the money clears in my bank account. Please ignore the ‘click & collect’ postal service I am at a loss how to remove it.. RM, GSP CinP only, No returns.
any questions please ask thanks
