Ultra rare art rock double album by this avant garde Fluxus artist, including a stunning cover design from his "Broken Music" series of works made with damaged records. The 24 tracks of music are a strange mix of punk rock, symphonic prog, recitations of poetry over odd background noises, new wave-esque synth pop, cabaret, and satirical folk songs, with some revisiting of older material from Knizak's conceptual rock group Aktual including a 1967 live recording of Aktual performing their most famous song "Assassination of Culture". Knizak is credited as composer, vocalist, and percussionist, and he is backed by a large ensemble on guitars, keyboards, drums, bass, accordion, harmonica, strings, brass, woodwinds, and vocals. This scarcely seen Czech-only release is a holy grail for Fluxus collectors. Knizak is a multimedia artist whose works have encompassed music, sculpture, painting, poetry, actions/happenings and performance art; he is best known for his Broken Music and Destroyed Music series of sound and visual works started in the 1960s which incorporate damaged/prepared vinyl records, CDs, and sheet music, and for his leadership of the Czech art rock group Aktual whose recordings were circulated via the samizdat system to circumvent Soviet bans. He currently serves as director of the Prague National Gallery. Should be of interest to fans of Fluxus artists and experimental musicians like Max Neuhaus, Herman Nitsch, Walter Marchetti, Juan Hidalgo, Ramon Barce, Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, George Maciunas, Joseph Beuys, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Philip Corner, Richard Maxfield, Emmett Williams, Paul Panhuysen, Takehisa Kosugi, La Monte Young, Gino di Maggio, Galleria Multhipla, Cramps, Gianni Sassi, John Cage, Albrecht D., Henning Christiansen, Henry Flynt, Frank Zappa, William S.
