Miles Davis' breakthrough jazz fusion LP, still sealed in original factory plastic. I bought this LP as a backup for the one I was playing (around 1977), then a little later CD's came out - I never got around to needing this 2nd copy, my original one (bought as soon as the lp was released) never sounded bad enough.

The first picture is a stock photo of Mati Klarwein's terrific cover art, from his book of artwork called "God Jokes". The second is a scan of my actual LP, showing the original LP stickers from Columbia, the "Gold Record Award", and "2 Record Set / Special Low Price". This is extremely rare, since it's still factory sealed (I have a used copy if you're on a budget) - I'll keep raising the price until some collector with as much money as intelligence buys it (Oops - I forgot, as the economy falls apart, so does the mentality of mankind).

At one time, this was the best-selling jazz LP of all time, and is certainly one of the most five influential. Miles was a genius, at one point he had 96 lp's still in print that were recorded in five different decades.
The digital recordings of this on cd don't quite capture the subtle nuances of the original analog masters. Real audiophiles know this, hence the original recordings are the most sought after of all. As an added bonus, this LP made guitarist John McLaughlin internationally famous, and Miles named one cut after him. Soon after this he formed the legendary Mahavishu Orchestra.
This LP helped jazz cross over into hard rock and reach new audiences as well as taking jazz into a totally new direction, in a genre the critics generally labeled "fusion"; later it came to be called "acid jazz". It's said that Miles was inspired by the huge festival crowds that gathered wherever Jimi Hendrix played and thought he could take jazz to those same audiences.
Own a piece of jazz history, hear it as it was intended by the master himself.
[People are buying USED copies of this for just as much - how NUTS is that?? I don't understand record collectors at all.. I have to assume NO serious collectors are using EBay for lp's..]
