Description
Prestige 7109 with 446 W 50th St., N.Y.C. address on both labels. 447 West 50th St. address on the bottom of the back cover, deep groove. The record is referred to as "Miles Davis and The Modern Jazz Giants". Leader, Davis, trumpet on all tracks. 2 takes of "Bags' Groove" which also includes Milt Jackson, vibes; Thelonious Monk, piano; Percy Heath, bass; Kenny Clarke, drums. Side B is from a separate session in 1954 with 4 tracks. These tracks include 2 takes of "But Not For Me". Besides Davis the artists include Horace Silver, piano; Sonny Rollins, tenor sax; Heath, bass; Kenny Clarke, drums.
Cover: VG+ to Mint(-) 1" scotch tape repair on the top edge at the insert edge. Small corner wear. Minor aging. Fine gloss finished front cover.
Record: VG to VG+ Visually shows slight wear. There are 5 or 6 light surface rub marks and a small number of very light brush-like surface rub marks. There are a few light discoloration marks that appear to be in the vinyl pressing and not a function of wear or handling. there are some light clicks that repeat at various intervals on Side A. On Side B there are some light clicks that repeat on Tracks 1 and 2. The balance of the tracks on Side B have only an occasional click and on 2 tracks there is no noise. This is a rare 1st edition of this record and have gone through it rather thoroughly. Audibly checked.
