Description
This is another rare survivor which is part of the collection of Jazz records I have inherited from my late husband, they haven’t been played since 1990 and have been stored. I am playing each one once to check for damage and then giving an accurate description and taking photos. This is a Miles Davis Stereo CBS 63551 orange label 1968 recording of ‘Filles de Kilimanjaro’. The matrix are stamped Side one SBPG 63551 1A with a very faint C stamped on the run out as well. Side two is SBPG 63551 B2 again there is a very faint C stamped as well on the run out. The cover clean and bright it is very good/near mint. The corners are great and the spine and writing on it is perfect. There are some wrinkles of the film near the mouth of the sleeve and along the spine edge. There is a slight ring mark where it has been stored. The reverse is near mint and remarkably clean, again just a faint ring mark and a little discolouration near the mouth. The original paper lining is mint, just discoloured with age. The vinyl is in amazing condition. It is bright and shiny with only a few hairline surface marks. The labels are near mint with very little marking around the spindle holes. There are no pits or lumps and the record plays perfectly without clicks or slurs or jumps. This is a great record in exceptional condition given it’s age. I haven’t cleaned it as I don’t want to damage it. I’m not a professional seller so I have tried to describe the condition but if you would like to ask questions about this record I will try to answer speedily. Thank you for looking.
