Sleeve Condition: EX+, light edge wear here and there, no splits

Notes: This particular LP has an interesting history—in a way, I am the original owner. Meaning, I received it from the widow of a neighbor, about 18 years ago now. While the sleeve shows signs of being moved over the years, the disc itself was still sealed in the perforated plastic bag of the era. That's right, it was unplayed when I received it. 


--I realize some of you will be rolling your eyes, understandably, right about now but this history does have the virtue of being absolutely true—


I left it in the bag for a few years until I heard that the particular plastic Columbia used in the 50s could begin to degrade and stick to the vinyl, ruining it. I removed it in time, no damage, and cleaned it carefully, most recently on a supreme Audio Deske Systeme ultrasonic cleaner. As I have several other six-eyes this one has been played only a handful of times, like maybe three. There's plenty of magical juice left in these grooves. 


While Columbia vinyl of the 50s was not perfect, this one plays beautifully. A little bit of groove noise at the beginning of each side, maybe some tape hiss.  I also caught two minor 'pops' on side 2. The music is just vital and alive and will flow from your speakers with unbelievable immediacy. 


Trust me, you will be happy with this one. It's a player AND a keeper.
